Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before enrolling in our programmes

1. Introduction

Welcome to The London School of Business and Research (LSBR). These Terms and Conditions govern your application, enrolment, payment, participation, academic progression, access to learning resources, and certification in relation to any programme offered by LSBR.

By applying for, enrolling on, accessing, or participating in any LSBR programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with any applicable programme-specific terms, refund policy, offer letter, invoice, payment plan, or written approval issued by LSBR.

LSBR is committed to providing flexible, high-quality online education designed to meet the needs of learners and working professionals worldwide.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

  • Institution, we, our, or us means The London School of Business and Research (LSBR).
  • Learner, student, or you means the individual who applies for, enrols on, accesses, or studies an LSBR programme.
  • Programme includes any short course, diploma, extended diploma, certificate, top-up, university progression route, professional development course, combined qualification, or any other academic or training route offered by LSBR.
  • LMS means the Learning Management System or any other online platform used to deliver learning materials, assessments, communication, and learner services.
  • Awarding body means any external awarding organisation, strategic partner, university, or certification provider involved in registration, moderation, external quality assurance, certification, or award release.

3. Student Agreement

Upon enrolment, a binding agreement is formed between you and LSBR. This agreement is directly with you and not with any third party, employer, sponsor, or funding body unless LSBR expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

By enrolling, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date personal, academic, and contact information
  • Provide genuine and valid supporting documents where required
  • Pay all fees in accordance with the agreed payment schedule
  • Comply with these Terms and Conditions, the Refund Policy, and any applicable programme-specific rules
  • Maintain academic integrity in all assessments and submissions
  • Use LSBR systems, learning materials, and academic support services appropriately
  • Remain reasonably contactable and responsive throughout your study period

LSBR reserves the right to refuse, suspend, withdraw, or terminate enrolment where false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information or documents have been provided.

4. Categories of Programmes

LSBR offers different categories of programmes, including but not limited to:

  • Short courses
  • Professional development courses
  • Regulated diploma programmes
  • Extended diploma programmes
  • Combined or multi-stage programmes
  • Top-up qualifications
  • University progression routes

These categories may differ in structure, delivery model, assessment format, support model, duration, access arrangements, certification process, fee structure, refund eligibility, and progression pathway. Programme-specific rules shall apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions.

5. Student Code of Conduct

All learners are expected to maintain appropriate academic and professional standards at all times.

5.1 Academic Integrity

All work submitted must be the learner's own. Plagiarism, collusion, cheating, impersonation, misrepresentation, fabrication, contract cheating, unauthorised use of third-party content, or any other form of academic dishonesty may result in disciplinary action, including assessment rejection, referral, suspension, termination, or expulsion without refund.

5.2 Respectful Conduct

Learners must treat staff, tutors, professors, coordinators, fellow learners, and external partners with respect and courtesy in all written, verbal, and online communications.

5.3 Professional Behaviour

Learners are expected to maintain appropriate standards of conduct in emails, discussion forums, chats, academic interactions, meetings, and use of LSBR systems.

5.4 Confidentiality and Access Security

Learners must not share their login credentials, LMS access, course materials, assessments, recordings, reference materials, or other proprietary content with any third party.

6. Admissions, Entry, and Recognition of Prior Learning

Admission to any programme is subject to LSBR's review of the learner's eligibility, documents, experience, and any applicable academic or professional criteria.

Where Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), direct entry, advanced standing, module exemption, or credit mapping is requested:

  • Such requests are considered only at LSBR's discretion
  • Official transcripts, recognised qualification documents, and any other requested evidence may be required
  • Unofficial records, self-translated documents, exam slips, CVs, or informal evidence may not be sufficient for exemption purposes
  • Any exemption, if granted, must be confirmed in writing by LSBR or the relevant academic authority

Application fees, module mapping fees, RPL assessment fees, and similar administrative charges are non-refundable unless LSBR expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

7. Fees and Payment Terms

Course fees are payable as agreed at the time of enrolment. LSBR may offer payment options including full upfront payment and instalment plans.

7.1 Full Payment

Where a learner elects to pay in full, the full fee must be paid in accordance with the invoice or offer issued by LSBR.

7.2 Instalment Plans

Where a learner is approved for an instalment plan:

  • Instalments must be paid on the agreed due dates
  • Missed or late payments may result in restricted access, suspension, or delayed academic processing
  • LSBR reserves the right to suspend course access where payments are overdue
  • Persistent or serious non-payment may result in termination of access, forfeiture of fees, and cancellation of academic services

7.3 Bank and Processing Charges

Any bank transfer charges, intermediary bank charges, foreign exchange charges, card surcharges, processing fees, or similar transaction costs shall be borne by the learner unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Any payment shortfall arising from such charges may be added to the learner's outstanding balance or next instalment.

7.4 Outstanding Debt

LSBR reserves the right to pursue outstanding fees, charges, and debts through internal recovery measures or appropriate legal channels.

We reserve the right to pursue outstanding debts through appropriate legal channels if payment obligations are not met.

8. Awarding Body Registration Threshold

Please note that registration with the relevant awarding body is not automatic upon enrolment and does not arise merely by submitting an application, creating an LMS account, or commencing study.

A learner shall only become eligible for awarding body registration once the learner has paid course fee instalments amounting to a minimum of GBP 600 per qualification level within the relevant programme.

For the avoidance of doubt:

  • Single-level programmes (a programme comprising one qualification, e.g. a single Level 4, Level 5, Level 6, or Level 7 Diploma): the minimum payment threshold is GBP 600.
  • Combined programmes (a programme comprising more than one qualification level, e.g. a Combined Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma, a Combined Level 5 and Level 6 Diploma, or a Combined Level 6 and Level 7 Diploma): the minimum payment threshold is GBP 600 multiplied by the number of qualification levels included in the programme. For example, a two-level combined programme has a threshold of GBP 1,200; a three-level combined programme has a threshold of GBP 1,800; and so on.

Until such time as the applicable minimum payment threshold has been received, the Institution shall have no obligation to initiate, process, or complete awarding body registration, and the learner shall not be entitled to claim that awarding body registration should already have taken place.

Any timelines, expectations, or representations relating to awarding body registration, certification, EQA, moderation, transcript generation, or award release shall be deemed to commence only once the applicable minimum payment threshold has been satisfied, unless expressly agreed otherwise by the Institution in writing.

The Institution reserves the right to withhold awarding body registration where the applicable threshold has not been met, and this shall not constitute breach of contract, misrepresentation, non-delivery, or grounds for refund, complaint, compensation, or chargeback.

Awarding body registration begins only once cumulative course fee instalments of at least GBP 600 per qualification level have been received for the relevant programme (e.g. GBP 600 for a single-level programme, GBP 1,200 for a two-level combined programme, GBP 1,800 for a three-level combined programme).

9. Digital Licence, Course Access, and Learning Materials

Course access is granted upon successful payment, approved payment arrangement, or such other enrolment status as LSBR may determine.

Upon issue of any of the following:

  • LMS access
  • Learner login credentials
  • Portal registration access
  • Study materials
  • Course resources
  • Learning links
  • Digital content
  • Academic support access

the learner acknowledges that the educational service has commenced and that the digital course licence has been issued and consumed.

This applies whether or not the learner actively uses, downloads, completes, or engages with the materials after access has been granted.

All materials, including but not limited to notes, quizzes, assignments, templates, readings, videos, reference links, LMS content, guides, presentations, and library resources are provided strictly for the learner's personal educational use only.

Learners must not copy, distribute, reproduce, sell, republish, upload, sublicense, commercially exploit, or share any LSBR materials or resources without prior written permission.

10. LMS Access, Platform Changes, and System Migration

Access to the LMS or other designated learning platform is provided for the learner's active enrolment period, expected study duration, or such extension period as may be formally approved by LSBR.

LSBR reserves the right to:

  • Migrate learners between LMS platforms or portals
  • Issue new credentials
  • Require account reactivation or profile completion
  • Change system layouts or navigation
  • Relocate or refresh study materials
  • Modify the learner interface or digital delivery environment

where reasonably necessary for academic, operational, technical, or quality-related purposes.

Such platform changes or system migrations shall not in themselves constitute grounds for refund, cancellation, or complaint, provided that reasonable programme access continues to be made available.

11. Curriculum, Content, and Programme Updates

LSBR reserves the right to amend, update, replace, restructure, rename, or withdraw modules, readings, assessments, quiz banks, learning materials, course layouts, curriculum components, and support systems where reasonably necessary to reflect:

  • Academic standards
  • Awarding body requirements
  • University requirements
  • Quality assurance expectations
  • Industry developments
  • Technological updates
  • Operational improvements

Such changes shall not constitute misrepresentation or grounds for refund, provided that the overall academic purpose and intended learning outcomes of the programme remain substantially intact.

12. Self-Paced Study and Extension Requests

Unless expressly stated otherwise, programmes are delivered on a self-paced basis.

"Self-paced" means that learners may progress through the programme flexibly, at a pace that suits their personal and professional circumstances, within the active access period applicable to their enrolment or within any formally approved extension period granted by LSBR.

Self-paced study does not mean unrestricted or indefinite disengagement without notice.

Where a learner requires additional time to complete their programme, an extension may be requested by contacting their assigned coordinator or emailing [email protected] before the active access period, expected study duration, or agreed study period concludes.

All extension requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. LSBR reserves the right to approve, refuse, limit, or condition any extension request.

13. Inactivity, Pause Requests, and Reactivation

Where a learner anticipates a prolonged break, period of inactivity, health-related interruption, work-related interruption, or inability to continue with studies, the learner must notify LSBR in writing in advance and obtain formal approval if they wish the course to be paused.

If no such request is made and approved, the course shall remain active and continue running within the learner's active enrolment period, expected study duration, or approved extension period.

In such circumstances, LSBR shall not be responsible for any loss of study time, expired access, concluded course period, or learner disadvantage arising from non-communication, inactivity, or non-participation.

Where a course has concluded, expired, lapsed, or been deactivated due to prolonged inactivity without prior approved pause status, any reinstatement or reactivation shall be entirely at LSBR's discretion.

If reactivation is approved:

  • A reactivation fee may apply
  • Administrative charges may apply
  • Academic reconfiguration conditions may apply
  • Access restoration may be subject to profile completion, fee clearance, or academic review

Any reactivation fee shall be determined by LSBR at its sole discretion, taking into account the programme, length of inactivity, academic processing required, administrative work involved, and any platform reconfiguration needed.

LSBR is under no obligation to approve reactivation where prior notice and approval were not obtained.

14. Assessments, Academic Review, and Resubmissions

Programmes may be assessed through assignments, projects, quizzes, reports, slides, dissertations, or other approved academic methods depending on the structure of the programme.

Where applicable:

  • Assignments may first undergo internal academic review
  • Learners may be referred for correction or resubmission
  • Assessments may be subject to internal verification and moderation
  • Work may then proceed to external quality assurance, external moderation, or awarding body review

Submission deadlines may apply depending on the programme structure, access period, extension status, intake cycle, and progression route.

Late submissions may be refused, delayed, or subject to such academic conditions as LSBR may determine.

15. Certification, EQA, and Award Release

Certificates, transcripts, provisional letters, results letters, and related academic documents are issued only upon successful completion of all applicable academic and financial requirements.

This may include:

  • Completion of all assessments
  • Successful internal review
  • Successful external quality assurance or moderation
  • Awarding body registration
  • Awarding body approval
  • Fee clearance
  • Profile completion and identity verification where required

Certification timelines provided by LSBR are estimates only. LSBR shall not be liable for delays arising from awarding body registration, EQA, moderation, transcript production, award release, or other third-party processing, provided LSBR has completed its own obligations within a reasonable timeframe.

Physical certificate printing, dispatch, and shipping may be subject to additional charges.

16. Letters, References, Student ID Cards, and Other Documents

The issuance of student letters, bonafide confirmation letters, student ID cards, reference letters, academic references, transcripts, provisional letters, certificates, verification letters, and similar documents shall be subject to the learner satisfying the relevant eligibility conditions.

These may include:

  • Completion of profile information
  • Upload of profile photograph
  • Document verification
  • Current enrolment status
  • Fee clearance
  • Academic completion of the relevant stage
  • Satisfaction of any programme-specific or administrative requirement

LSBR reserves the right to refuse, delay, or condition the issue of such documents where requirements have not been met.

17. University Progression and Third-Party Routes

Where a programme includes or refers to progression to a university top-up, dissertation stage, MBA top-up, MSc top-up, DBA top-up, or any other external progression route, such progression may be subject to:

  • The requirements of the relevant university or strategic partner
  • Intake availability
  • Academic review
  • Fee requirements
  • Document verification
  • Timing of certification
  • Final admissions approval

Unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing for a specific learner and route, LSBR does not guarantee admission, timing, or acceptance by any third-party university or partner institution.

18. Communications

Learners are responsible for monitoring their registered email address, including junk and spam folders, for communications from LSBR regarding access, enrolment, payments, academic support, extension requests, assessment matters, reactivation, certification, and student services.

Failure to read, retrieve, or respond to communications properly sent by LSBR shall not invalidate such communications.

19. Criminal Convictions Disclosure

Certain programmes may require the disclosure of criminal convictions, safeguarding issues, regulatory matters, or similar suitability concerns. Where required, the learner must provide accurate disclosure at the time of enrolment. Any such information will be handled confidentially and used only for the purpose of assessing suitability for the relevant programme.

20. Changes to Terms, Fees, and Programmes

LSBR reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, programme structures, course fees, processes, and policies where reasonably necessary.

Changes may be communicated by email, website publication, updated policy pages, or learner portal notice.

LSBR also reserves the right to:

  • Amend course fees with reasonable notice for future enrolments
  • Modify course content and structure
  • Revise support models or academic processes
  • Cancel or postpone programmes with low enrolment or operational constraints
  • Issue alternative arrangements where appropriate

Where programme-specific terms, offer letters, invoices, payment plans, written approvals, or special arrangements are issued to a learner, those specific terms shall prevail over these general Terms and Conditions to the extent of any inconsistency.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LSBR shall not be liable for:

  • Technical failures beyond its reasonable control
  • Interruption of access caused by internet, browser, device, email, or third-party platform issues
  • Delays caused by awarding bodies, universities, strategic partners, or external certification providers
  • Employment, promotion, licensing, migration, or visa outcomes
  • Recognition decisions made by third-party authorities, ministries, councils, or regulators
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the use of LSBR services

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions, the learner's enrolment, or participation in an LSBR programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
